Tedder has previously managed multiple retail stores, organized and led a community art workspace, led volunteer groups at expressive events, and worked in the non-profit sector assisting people experiencing houselessness, sexual violence and domestic violence. They graduated from Tulane University with masters degrees in social work and disaster resilience leadership.
Initially beginning at Tapestry Asheville as a therapist, Tedder saw and fulfilled the gap in operations-level work. As such, they were offered the position of Interim Executive Director in December 2022, officially gaining the title in February 2023. Tedder’s goal for the facility is to create an inclusive environment where people who identify on the LGBTQIA spectrum, female, non-binary and trans men feel comfortable and can access the services they need. As such, Tedder ensures that the staff of the facility are trauma-informed and trained in terminology associated with these identities and the issues they face on a daily basis.
